the Thick of It

Every illness has its own course. Some progress quickly while others change gradually over the years. In most cases becoming a caregiver is part of the journey and it can transform your life in an instant. We are here to help you navigate the transitions and decisions ahead. You are not alone.

It's Natural To Ask Yourself

  • How long can I do this alone
  • Is it time to get help
  • Am I doing this right

Feelings of guilt, anger, resentment, and loss of identity are common. Caregiving can bring moments of gratitude, laughter, and love, but also loneliness, difficult news, and challenges you never expected.

1. Protect Your Well-Being

  • Abuse of any kind is unacceptable — set boundaries and seek help if needed.
  • Remember, your safety and self-worth matter as much as the care you provide.

2. Organize and Manage Tasks

  • Use the Care Partners Project app or planner to track appointments, medications, and contacts.
  • Keep a clear record of important information and updates to share with others.

3. Build Your Support Network

  • Ask for help from family, friends, or professionals.
  • Share your needs openly — you are not a burden.
  • Consider joining a support group to connect with others who understand.

4. Make Time for Yourself

  • Schedule moments for activities that bring you peace, like walking, reading, or enjoying a hobby.
  • Use journaling or reflection to process your thoughts and track your own needs.

Caregiving is an extraordinary act of love and commitment. The Care Partners Project is here to give you the clarity, connection, and support you need to continue providing care without losing sight of your own health and happiness. You are not alone.

Your Role Is Vital. Our Role Is Helping You Thrive In It.
