The Beginning
You’ve Got This, But We Can Help
Just gotten the diagnosis? Stepping into the role of caregiver can be overwhelming. Whether you’re a spouse, parent, child, or friend, your heart is in the right place, but your head might be spinning with questions: “Can I do this?”, “How will I manage everything?”, “Where can I get help?”
At Care Partners Project, we see this every day. You are not alone. We understand the rollercoaster of emotions you might be feeling: anger, fear, relief, determination. It’s all perfectly normal.
Here’s the good news: You’ve got this! We know there will be ups and downs, but we’re here to equip you with the tools you need to stay organized, informed, and supported. Here’s how Care Partners Project can help:
First of all – Acknowledge Your Emotions:
Feeling overwhelmed? It’s a common reaction. The future might seem uncertain, but we can help you navigate it one step at a time.
Fearful you can’t handle it? Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the process, offering resources and support.
Feeling a surge of protectiveness? That’s natural. You are their lifeline.
Second – Organize and Plan:
The Care Partners Project app and planner are your first steps towards creating space, balance, and a platform for self-care.
Record important information: Use the app or planner to track appointments, medications, and contacts.
Communicate effectively: Utilize the app’s messaging feature to streamline communication with healthcare providers and family.
Schedule self-care: Block out time for activities that recharge you mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Third – Build Your Support Network:
Don’t isolate yourself. Get out and do things you enjoy, both with your loved one and for yourself.
Identify your “Buddy Network.” These are the people you can rely on for help with your concerns and problems, big or small.
Set boundaries: Discuss with your loved one how you’ll handle questions and manage expectations.
Fourth – Take Care of Yourself:
Maintain healthy eating habits. This fuels your energy for caregiving.
Find creative outlets. Doing activities you enjoy can be a healthy escape.
